In the Chicago Hitmen's 5-1 win over the Anaheim Tigers on Tuesday night, Manny Fernandez broke the NHA single game record for saves with 50 and tied the single game record for shots faced with 51. "I just go out and play my game. I try to stop all of the shots, I guess I just had more tonight."
The increase in shots against may have something to do with Chicago's recent lack of depth in the back end after trading away Robyn Regehr and Mark Streit. Fernandez is also rumored to be on the block, but is signed for the next two seasons.
In other news, forward Patrick Kane will be out of the Hitmen lineup for the next 6 days with a knee injury.
