Brief Overview:
The 2008 / 2009 season is where the FREEZE look to start their dynasty. Historically a team who's always had good success, but nothing spectacular. They have finished at around the .500 mark for most of their existence. Their best season being in 1998-99 when they had a franchise record 95 points and made it to the third round of the playoffs. Then the team was led by none other than Wayne Gretzky.
These days a core of young talented stars in the making, hold the keys to success. Lead by Ryan Getzlaf and Anze Kopitar up the middle, the Dustins, Brown and Penner on the wings, and off-season acquisition Kevin Bieksa on the blue line. To this mix a group of cagy veterans add their experience and skills to a round out a team ready to rebound from last seasons disappointing finish. Sydor, Recchi, Havelid, and Scott Walker are ready to show the NHA they aren’t done just yet.
Between the pipes, the Freeze are counting on young Peter Budaj to show that he is ready to parlay his success in the Olympics to a dominant career in the NHA.
