Brief Overview:
The Las Vegas Knights are the former Victoria Vengeance, a team that has had much success in the past. In the off-season of 2006, soon after winning the NHA Cup, the league broke the news that the team would be moving from small-market Victoria to Las Vegas, Nevada.
The clubs first ever draft pick in the original dispercal draft in 1998 was Peter Forsberg, who remains team captain to this day. With a young nucleus of forwards and defensemen, along with Miikka Kiprusoff in net, it's no wonder why their record every year is among the league's best.
In their first season, the team finished 3rd overall with a 53-win season, but bowed out in the second round of the playoffs. Playoff wins haven't come easy over the years for the Knights, as up until the 2005-06 season they yet to make it past the second round. However that all changed in 2006 when the Vengeance won the NHA Cup by beating the Boston Red Army in six games.
Now the team is looking to match its 2005-06 success in the city of Las Vegas.
