Brief Overview:
The St.Louis Rivermen have had their ups and downs in the NHA. Aside from a post-season run to the Howe conference finals in 1999, they have been fairly mediocre at first glance down their record over the years. But the club boasts a rich history of veteran players who have laced up the skates for them, including Doug Gilmour, Steve Yzerman and Igor Larionov, who led the team in scoring its first two seasons.
From 2001 to 2004 the Rivermen had a four-year absence from the playoffs, but returned to the post-season most recently in 2005-06 following the lockout season.
New GM Charles Lussier-Raizenne took over the Rivermen in November of 2006, and many feel that with his guidence the team could turn the corner and become a contender in the near future.
