Brief Overview:
The Winnipeg Warriors have experienced more success than perhaps any other team in NHA history. They have been to the championship finals on three occassions, winning the NHA Cup in both 2002 and 2003. The 2002-03 seasons was dominated by the Warriors in fact, as they not only won the Cup that season but also finished first overall in the standings with a 51-24-7 record.
The Warriors have always relied on team depth rather than top line scoring, and this strategy still holds strong today. Although many fans would argue that they are not what they once were, the club does boast a good batch of young forwards, top goaltending and a strong defense.
Former GM Lee Hutchinson build the Warriors into a winner, and now under new management in GM Steve Adams, the city of Winnipeg is excited in anticipation of the team returning to the top of the NHA in the future.
